I am forever grateful to live in a country like Canada. It is both a privilege and a blessing. The possibilities and opportunities for our children, both girls and boys, are endless.
Seraphine has the freedom to be whoever she wants to be in this country. Her future is bright.
She is not only loved so much and well taken care of, but we also strive to raise her to be strong and empowered. We support her passions so that she may one day achieve her full potential. We teach her humility and kindness. And although she is aware that we continuously support charities and fundraising events and help those in need when we can, I wanted HER to take this leap and make a difference to helping girls around the world who are denied of their basic human rights simply because they are girls and therefore in dire need of her help.
I want her to be aware that beyond her perfect little world that there are people, specifically, girls her very own age who don't have the same privileges and blessings as her. I want her to know that girls, in other countries, are not given the same opportunities and rights. They are not permitted to go to school. They are discriminated. They are abused. Millions of young girls are forced into marriage. They do not have the same equality as boys do simply because they are girls. I want her to know that this is not okay and this is not acceptable!
This is Seraphine's first fundraising. Seraphine will be making soap to raise funds for those girls all around the world with the hope that she will help change the course of their future.
