Plan International's charity Because I am a Girl is very special because it helps girls all around the world go to school, stop teenage pregnancy, child marriage and so much more. Education is an extremely important basic human right because it allows the girl to get a good job when they're older and make more informed decisions in their lives. Studies have even shown that educating girls improves the development of the country, creates stronger and healthier families and improves the economy. Currently, in South Sudan, a young girl is three times more likely to die during childbirth than to go through elementary school. Three times. Some countries like Tanzania and Sierra Leone expel pregnant adolescents from school. They even refuse adolescent mothers to study in schools. Teenage pregnancy affects the girl's whole future. Unfortunately, child marriage still a big problem in many countries. In 2017, more than 41,000 girls under 18 years old marry every day. Many girls cannot go to school because they are married. It is estimated that 650 million girls alive today were married as children. Because I am a Girl helps out so many girls around the world and your donation will be put to good use. Thank you!
