Plan International Canada is a member of a global organization dedicated to advancing children’s rights and equality for girls. Not only have they been operating for more than 80 years and in over 75 countries, they are also the largest organization in Canada focusing on gender equality and extreme poverty.

This event specifically will be supporting Plan International Canada’s domestic programming. Today’s generation of girls face so many pressures and barriers that keep them from tapping their true power. It’s time we open doors for them, right here at home. Our domestic programming fund offers growth opportunities to girls in Canada facing unique challenges. It funds trainings, workshops and inclusive sports programs to develop public speaking skills, self-esteem, knowledge and confidence to lead, while engaging local boys and men to redefine gender norms and advocate for gender equality. It also extends seats at major conferences, so girls can make their voices heard – putting words to action – and carves space for mentorship in diverse fields, proving girls belong wherever they choose. This fund invests in our nation’s girls to drive positive change – ensuring they not only have a strong platform to stand on, they can build it themselves.
